TERMS & CONDITIONS – ESTIMATES
- Smart elec shall give the Client an estimated price specifying the Goods and Services required in order to fulfill the client’s instructions and a cost estimate for such Goods and Services. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date stated.
- The client shall accept the estimate by notifying Smart elec via email or telephone.
- Upon acceptance of the estimate the client will agree to the following:
- Unless otherwise agreed in writing Smart elec payment terms are strictly fourteen (14) days from the date of Smart elec’s tax invoice.
- On acceptance of this estimate a deposit of 40% of the total, may be payable. Smart elec will advise if a deposit is required *
- Despite all attempts to accurately estimate each job, there may be some discrepancies between the estimate and the final invoice. This is largely due to fluctuations in the cost of goods, actual goods used to carry out works and unforeseen work that needs to be carried out to make premises electrically safe.
- Smart elec will communicate with the client if any additional work is required.
- If the client requests further work that is not stipulated in the original estimate this will be charged at our hourly rates plus any associated materials used for extra work.
- For switchboard and renovation work, our thorough testing process may reveal faults in the existing wiring. There may be additional charges if faulty wiring needs to be repaired to make the premises electrically safe.
- If the estimate contains several stages, Smart elec reserves the right to send an invoice for a progress payment at the end of each stage. These invoices will be paid as per our payment terms listed above.
- For any underground works the client must clearly mark the exact location and identify all services above and below the ground, including but not limited to drains, pipes, sewers, mains and existing power feeds, telephone and data cables, to enable Smart elec to prevent damage to all such services. Should the client fail to provide Smart elec with the location of services, then the client shall indemnify Smart elec from any claim for costs, expenses, or losses for any damage that may occur as a result of the excavation.
- The Works will be carried out in accordance with all relevant laws and legal requirements in an appropriate and skilful way, in accordance with the plans and specifications (where relevant) using Goods that are good and suitable for the purpose for which they are intended to be used and that, unless otherwise stated, those Goods will be new.
